Peru and Argentina played out a thrilling 4-4 draw in their last group-stage match of the South American Under-15 Soccer Championship on Sunday.

With both teams already qualified for the next round, this match was about who would top Group A and meet the second-placed team from Group B.

Argentina went ahead in the sixth minute when Tomas Conechny fired a low strike into the net, but the Peruvians were level five minutes later thanks to a Hideyoshi Arakaki header.

Three more minutes went by and Argentina again edged in front when Conechny headed home from a corner.

Peru responded shortly after though, as Luis Iberico scored from the penalty spot in the 17th minute. Arakaki scored his second in the 32nd minute to put Peru in front for the first time in the match at the IV Centenario stadium in Tarija, Bolivia.

La Blanquirroja went to the break with a 3-2 lead but goals from Matias Roskopf in the 70th minute and Franco Ramos in the 78th turned things around for Argentina in the second half.

With just two minutes left on the clock, Iberico was on target again as he fired a shot from inside the penalty-area to level the game for good.

The result saw Peru advancing as group winners on goal difference as both teams ended with ten points. Peru will face Chile while Colombia will play against Argentina in the semifinals on Thursday, Nov. 25.
