Foreign Affairs Minister Javier Gonzalez-Olaechea affirmed that Peru lives in democracy and is in a stable condition, since the rules and stability needed for investments are maintained.

In remarks to Canal N on Monday night, Gonzalez-Olaechea stressed that democratic rules have not been broken in the South American country. He added that respect for the State branches goes on.

"Peru lives in democracy and faces problems like many democracies in the world; we do not face a daily crisis. The country is in a stable condition; it faces special circumstances from time to time, but the democratic rules have not been broken, neither with Congress nor with the Judiciary," he stated.

The Cabinet member added that the Executive Branch also works closely with local and regional authorities. Thus, democracy is maintained across multiple levels.

"When we reach November (month of the APEC Leaders' Summit), we will be in even better conditions, because the country ensures conditions of legal equality for both foreign and domestic investments," he noted.

The government official affirmed that his sector addresses very important issues to better foster foreign policy and contribute to efforts aimed at achieving national development.

Within this framework, Gonzalez-Olaechea indicated that she has a robust agenda aimed at presenting the investment opportunities available in Peru, which is promoted with the same intensity as in the United States, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, India, among other countries.
