Peruvian Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Hugo de Zela on Wednesday affirmed the international community has no doubts the Inca country relies on a full democracy.
"I have not even heard any comments claiming we do not live under the rule of law," the official told RPP radio and TV station.
Likewise, De Zela informed the Foreign Affairs Ministry on Tuesday handed over a diplomatic note to Lima-based Uruguayan Ambassador Carlos Barros, as well as a document written by the Justice Ministry summarizing the cases involving ex-President Alan Garcia.
As is known, Brazilian construction giant and corruption-tainted Odebrecht allegedly paid bribes to secure the Lima Metro Line 1 contract during Garcia's presidency (2006-2011).
Alan Garcia served as President of Peru between 1985-1990 and 2006-2011.
