BCR maintains Peru 2018 growth projection at 4%

13:01 | Lima, Sep. 21.

The Central Reserve Bank (BCR) has maintained Peru's GDP growth projection at 4% for the current year, according to the September 2018 Inflation Report presented on Friday.

The issuing entity has estimated the 4% growth rate will be supported by a strong expansion in the fisheries sector (30%), besides the good performances of the manufacturing, construction, and agriculture sectors.

However, the institution revised downwards its 2019 economic expansion forecast from 4.2% to 4%.

Last August, the Economy and Finance Ministry revised upwards the GDP growth projection from 3.6% to 4% for 2018, according to the 2019-2022 Multiannual Macroeconomic Framework (MMM).
