BBVA: Peruvian economy may expand 3.9% in 2019

16:51 | Lima, Jan. 24.

Peruvian economy will expand 3.9% in 2019, underpinned by domestic demand, BBVA Research projected Thursday.

"Private investment in mining and infrastructure works will boost domestic demand's 4% growth this year," BBVA Research Head Francisco Grippa expressed.

Likewise, he indicated the Inca country's economy might have increased by 3.9% in 2018.

This outcome may have been driven by the fishery sector thanks to the good anchovy seasons that have also favored the good performance of the primary manufacturing sector.

According to Grippa, the construction and farming spheres might have had a positive impact on Peru's GDP expansion as well.
