Peru will be in the global spotlight thanks to the
, as its landscapes and tourist attractions will be broadcasted to 190 countries, which will generate a media impact worth approximately US$200 million, Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Edgar Vasquez has affirmed.
Likewise, the organizers have mentioned —on several occasions— that
Peru offers an ideal terrain for the rally, thanks to its deserts and difficult territory, which have made a great impression on competitors in previous editions.
It must be noted 534 drivers and co-drivers from 61 countries currently participate in the hardest race around the globe. They will transverse
Lima,
Ica,
Arequipa,
Moquegua, and
Tacna regions.
Furthermore, around 70 broadcasters will televise the competition for over 1,200 hours.
Said figure is US$20 million higher than the one registered in 2018 (US$40.5 million). Plus, the tourism sector will contribute with around US$40.7 million (67.8%) of the total.
"It will promote goods and services consumption in the nearby areas of the competition's route," he added.
