Peru: President Jeri leads fifth citizen security meeting

The President of the Republic, Jose Jeri, led the fifth working meeting on the citizen security plan, as part of his official agenda aimed at strengthening policies to combat insecurity.

During the meeting, the government reviewed, planned, and defined the next steps of the National Citizen Security Strategy.

The measures are aimed at ensuring effective protection for the population against crime, under the 2026–2028 National Citizen Security Plan.

At the session, the plan's main guidelines were outlined, with emphasis on human security, crime prevention, territorial control, and the Peruvian State's response capacity.

Ministers Walter Martinez (Justice and Human Rights), Vicente Tiburcio (Interior), and Hugo de Zela (Foreign Affairs), as well as Cabinet Chief Ernesto Alvarez, took part in the meeting, where they coordinated intersectoral actions to meet the plan's objectives.

The event was held at the Government Palace in Lima.
