Sarhua is opening its doors to tourism with an offering that invites travelers to discover its charms. Located in the province of Víctor Fajardo, in the Ayacucho region, the district has launched the "Charming Passport"—an initiative promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) designed to encourage visits to Peru’s "Charming Towns."

The concept goes beyond simply collecting stamps; it aims to motivate visitors to explore these destinations, learn about local customs, and engage in experiences that foster an appreciation for the unique identity of each town.

What can you discover in Sarhua?

Situated approximately a three-hour drive from the city of Ayacucho, this district invites visitors to admire the Campanayucc waterfall, wander through its streets, and connect with its artistic expressions and ancestral traditions.

To earn the Sarhua stamp, tourists must provide photographic evidence of having visited three suggested tourist sites or participated in recommended experiences, in accordance with the program's requirements.

The passport also offers various levels of recognition: "Charming Explorer" (for three stamps), "Charming Traveler" (for six stamps), and "Charming Ambassador" (for eight or more stamps). Additionally, a surprise prize awaits those who collect at least three stamps, subject to the established terms and conditions.

Through this initiative, Sarhua aims to attract more visitors and create opportunities to showcase its cultural heritage, natural attractions, and the traditions that its residents have preserved through the generations. "The goal of this passport is to position Sarhua as one of the region's main attractions and, above all, to generate economic activity for the local population," remarked district mayor Moisés Yancce.
