Peru: President-elect Keiko Fujimori meets with UAE Ambassador

President-elect Keiko Fujimori met with United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ambassador to Peru Ibrahim Salem Humaid Ali Alalawi to strengthen friendship bonds with one of the country's main trading partners in the Middle East.

During the meeting, the diplomat presented the president-elect with a letter from UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan congratulating Fujimori on her victory in the runoff election and wishing the South American nation continued progress and prosperity.

Since the National Elections Board (JNE) proclaimed the results of the presidential runoff on July 3, Fujimori has been receiving authorities, ambassadors, as well as representatives of civil society, social, and political organizations at her party headquarters in Lima.

Within this framework, she met with Good Government Party leader and former presidential candidate Jorge Nieto Montesinos Tuesday morning.

Meanwhile, Vice President-elect Miguel Torres met with representatives of the Cajamarca Collective for Democracy.

The meeting included an exchange of perspectives on the main challenges and opportunities for the region's development.
