Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra monitors the Centro de Contencion Hospitalaria (Containment Center) to stem the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), located at Eastern Lima Hospital in Ate Vitarte district.
Both
patients and their relatives are given a mask upon arrival at the medical center, they wash their hands and then pass through the admission-triage area, where they are checked by specialists.
Both the admission and staging areas have appropriate signage that encourages people to keep their distance from one another, as required by health regulations.
Likewise, Mr. Vizcarra visited the sample collection area where patients are examined in order to confirm possible contagion.
The Lima-based hospital has 155 hospitalization and 50 intensive care unit (ICU) beds available for COVID-19 cases.
Social isolation
It should be noted there is stricter control on the streets and only authorized public transport vehicles can transit.
Moreover, only the people —who carry out key activities— can circulate, for which they must hold the corresponding authorization.
