Peru's President leads decentralized ministerial meeting in Piura

The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Wednesday led a decentralized ministerial meeting in Piura region, in the presence of the regional governor, as well as district and provincial mayors from this northern area of the country.

To that end, the Head of State has arrived in Piura joined by Prime Minister Guido Bellido and some members of the Cabinet.

Upon arrival, the top official was received by Piura Region Governor Servando Garcia. Afterwards, they visited the areas affected by the recent seismic event.

Joined by local authorities, Mr. Castillo toured Vichayal district in Paita Province, which was declared under state of emergency due to the natural disaster.

While addressing the population, the President affirmed that —as an authority elected by the people— he was supporting the population and asked for understanding because his administration was putting the house in order so that the Government Palace is for everyone.

The meeting with regional and local authorities began under the leadership of First Vice-President and Development-Social Inclusion Minister Dina Boluarte.
