Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra's approval rating increased 11 percentage points, from 35% to 46%, the latest Ipsos Peru poll revealed.
According to the study, the approval rating rose to 46% on August 17, while the disapproval number stood at 42%.
As stated in the poll, the principal reasons to support Vizcarra's performance are his good
ideas and plans (39%), his efforts to improve the economy (22%), as well as his capacity for
dialogue and consensus (22%).
Additionally, 20% of those surveyed think the Head of State is working to improve public safety, and 18% stated he is working for education, among other issues.
As for his
Independence Day speech, 68% of respondents claimed it was good, 20% said it was bad, and 12% did not specify.
On the other hand, 19% of those asked support Prime Minister Cesar Villanueva's performance.
