The President of the Republic Martin Vizcarra currently leads a new session of the Council of Ministers, joined by Prime Minister Walter Martos.

The session takes place at the Lima-based Government Palace and sees the participation of the Ministerial Cabinet.

According to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the meeting addresses the actions taken by different ministries to address the health and economic situation in the South American country.

On Tuesday, the Head of State supervised the facilities of the State-run National Center for Supply of Strategic Health Resources (Cenares), which distributed more than 100 million medicine units and personal protective equipment (PPE) nationwide during the state of emergency.

Likewise, the President and Health Minister Pilar Mazzetti met with representatives of the Peruvian College of Physicians (CMP) in order to exchange proposals and strategies to continue fighting the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

This meeting was held at the Government Palace headquarters in Lima.

On Monday, the Peruvian leader signed the Commitment to Dialogue under the Peru Pact during the 129th session of the National Agreement Forum.

As is known, such pact was launched by the Executive Branch by end-July. The initiative is intended to encourage dialogue beyond the COVID-19 crisis.
