President Martin Vizcarra and Health Minister Pilar Mazzetti met with representatives of the Peruvian College of Physicians (CMP) in order to exchange proposals and strategies to continue fighting the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

Minister Mazzetti deemed the meeting as reasonable and interesting.

The event was held on Tuesday at the Government Palace in Lima.

On August 13, the Peruvian Government approved Supreme Decree N°139-2020-PCM, which declared quarantine entirely focused on 6 regions of the country: Arequipa, Ica, Huanuco, Junin, Madre de Dios and San Martin, as well as on 36 provinces, due to an increase in the level of COVID-19 contagion.

It also established Sundays nationwide curfew.
