The Supreme Court of Preparatory Investigation of the Supreme Court of Justice has declared the requests by the State Attorney General's Office (PGE) to be well founded. Similarly, it ordered that the assets owned by accused ex-President Pedro Castillo and former Prime Minister Anibal Torres be seized.

Judge Juan Carlos Checkley ordered the seizure of four properties belonging to the former Head of State. They are located in Anguia district, Chota province, Peru's northern Andean Cajamarca region, and in the town of Tacabamba.

In the case of former Prime Minister Anibal Torres, nine assets are to be seized: eight properties are located in Lima's San Isidro and Cercado districts, plus one vehicle.

As is known, the State Attorney General's Office has requested a payment of S/67 million (about US$18.61 million) in civil damages for the coup d'état perpetrated on December 7, 2022.
