Thus, the top official mentioned that his government will aim to guide this development and harness these capabilities.
The Head of State made these remarks following the signing of Addendum No. 5 to the concession contract for the Matarani Port Terminal, located in Arequipa region, southern Peru.
In his speech, the President underlined that our country has a destiny of greatness.
He added that the steps being taken now are aimed toward that goal, as Peru has historically possessed all the advantages and characteristics to make it possible.
The top official stated that public infrastructure works are "crucial to reaching that successful outcome."
In this sense, he added that his government, being short-term, "must be much more intense in the measures it implements to get there."
In this regard, Jeri mentioned that a series of measures are being planned to achieve this goal, which will be officialized in the coming days through the request for powers his administration will submit to the Congress of the Republic.
The Head of State noted that, in addition to this, comprehensive development in each of the regions must be promoted.
Likewise, he emphasized that the Executive Branch has full willingness to accelerate the actions and measures required to achieve it.
"Our potential lies in our regions. Each region has advantages distinct from the others, and that is where we must know how to focus—harnessing these capabilities to achieve a cohesive national vision of development. That is what should always be done, and that is what we will do," Jeri stated.
"And what we cannot accomplish in the time remaining, we will set on the right path, we will guide forward," he concluded.
This event took place at the Government Palace in Lima. It was attended by State ministers, among other authorities.
