Peruvian Alliance to present European chocolate maker at Cacao and Chocolate Show

10:42 | Lima, Jul. 18.

Producers from the Peruvian Association of Cacao Producers (Appcacao) bring an innovative training offer along with a prestigious European chocolate maker to the 2020 Virtual Cacao and Chocolate Show.

This is an alliance among producers, chocolatiers, entrepreneurs, and two international organizations: Cross Cultural Bridges from the Netherlands and Rikolto from Belgium.

Thanks to this effort, AppCacao brings this year the winner of The Academy of Chocolate 2020's Filled Chocolates Category, Rita Zamoshchina from Amsterdam. She will teach a course on bonbon making, with the most up-to-date techniques in her category.

The purpose of the alliance is to make new knowledge and tools available to Peruvians in order to strengthen the cacao and chocolate value chain, thereby boosting the Peruvian market.

Likewise, the II Latin American Cacao Forum will be held. It will address topics such as marketing, commercialization, productivity, sustainability, and resilience in the face of climate change —issues that strongly concern the Peruvian cacao sector.

Exhibitors from Peru, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Nicaragua —with the experience of SICACAO-Central America— will also participate in the event.

The director of Cross Cultural Bridges (CCB), Henkjan Laats, said that the alliance plans to establish a network of contacts and business opportunities with Dutch companies, as well as to strengthen the supply and quality of chocolate to increase consumption in the Peruvian market.
