President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Monday affirmed that her Government has ordered a frontal and decisive fight against terrorism and drug trafficking in the Valley of Apurimac, Ene, and Mantaro Rivers (Vraem) and across the country.
"We will not allow more deaths and violence. We want peace, we want development, we love life," the Head of State said.
The dignitary addressed the relatives of the courageous fallen officers to express her deepest sympathy on behalf of all Peruvian citizens.
"Let me convey my embrace, my closeness, my solidarity, and my compassion in this difficult moment. You have shared an important part of your life with the homeland: your most loved ones. Peru recognizes its children today, in immortality," she underlined.
In this regard, the President expressed her firm and consistent rejection of narco-terrorism and every act of violence that attempts to take away life, health, and integrity from Peruvians, as well as their right to peace, progress, and well-being.
"My Government has ordered a frontal fight, the most decisive one, against this alliance of terrorism and drug trafficking and throughout the nation's territory," Mrs. Boluarte said at the funeral.
Likewise, the country's top official emphasized that she fully backs the Peruvian National Police and the Armed Forces as a whole in this task.
"In front of Peruvian citizens, I reiterate that we continue to work tirelessly to meet the major goals that we all aspire and the population's just demands, to strengthen democracy and the rule of law, as well as to build a fairer, more equitable, stronger, and more developed country, together and united in one heart," she concluded.
The ceremony took place at the Diroes headquartes in Lima's Ate district, in the presence of the coffins holding the remains of six of the seven fallen officers, which had arrived this morning from Ayacucho.
At the end of the tribute, the Head of State headed to the relatives' platform to convey her condolences in person.
