Peru: President leads meeting to assess preventive measures against rainfall in Tumbes

The President of the Republic, Jose Jeri, led a working meeting to review irrigation projects and preventive measures in response to rainfall affecting Tumbes region, northern Peru.

Ministers Denisse Miralles (Economy and Finance) and Vladimir Cuno (Agrarian Development and Irrigation) joined the Head of State at the session.

"As part of the follow-up, it was agreed to hold a technical working group next week in Tumbes region," the Presidential Office reported via X.

The Office added that the Head of State reaffirmed his commitment to sustainable development and addressing the region's needs.

The event included officials from the National Water Authority (ANA), the National Civil Defense Institute (INDECI), and the National Infrastructure Authority (ANIN).

It also included local government representatives, as well as lawmakers Jenny Lopez—chair of the Agrarian Commission—and Hector Ventura.
