The
Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) approved the Circular Economy Roadmap for the Tourism Sector through 2030, aimed at boosting the sector's productivity, competitiveness, and sustainability through a systemic, fair, effective, coherent, and coordinated transition toward circular tourism.
Through Supreme Decree No. 003-2026-MINCETUR, published in Official Gazette El Peruano on Monday, it is established that the Tourism Environmental Affairs Directorate at the Deputy Ministry of Tourism at Mincetur is the body responsible for coordinating the implementation, compliance, and monitoring of the Circular Economy Roadmap for the Tourism Sector through 2030.
The directorate will carry out this role in coordination with the sector's attached agencies and public bodies, as well as external entities identified as responsible.
The implementation of the provisions set out in the aforementioned regulation will be financed from the budgets of the entities involved, without requiring additional resources from the Public Treasury.

Mincetur may update, incorporate, modify, or integrate new actions, indicators, or targets into the Circular Economy Roadmap for the Tourism Sector through 2030, subject to a favorable opinion from the Ministry of Environment.
The recitals of the regulation recall that Supreme Decree No. 003-2025-MINAM approved the National Circular Economy Roadmap through 2030 as a planning and guidance instrument for the policies, regulations, and practices of economic activities at the sectoral and territorial levels.
The roadmap establishes a common strategic framework for Peru's systemic and harmonized transition toward a circular economy. It also applies nationwide, with guidelines for implementation at the sectoral, regional, and local levels.
