The President of the Republic, Jose Maria Balcazar, stated that his administration is working to protect the health of Peruvian citizens.

Remarks were made during his participation in the presentation of the monoclonal antibody and the symbolic vaccination against the Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) on Tuesday.

The top official recalled that, since the beginning of his administration, he had made it a priority to strengthen the healthcare sector nationwide.

The Head of State noted that results are achieved when political will is combined with management capacity.

In this regard, he said that major projects previously stalled by bureaucracy were unblocked, including the Dos de Mayo Hospital in Lima and the Antonio Lorena Hospital in Cusco region.

"A person is measured by results, and that is what we are delivering," Balcazar noted, after emphasizing that he will hand over a sound economy when his term in office comes to an end.

Regarding RSV vaccines, the President said they will help prevent diseases among Peru's future generations and contribute to building a healthy country.

"That prevention is a major investment for the nation," the president stressed, adding that, despite the limited time his administration has had, it is achieving accomplishments that had not been seen in many years.

The ceremony took place at the Government Palace in Lima, with the participation of Health Minister Juan Carlos Velasco.

Through the National Center for the Supply of Strategic Health Resources (Cenares), the Health Ministry received a shipment of 102,400 RSV vaccine doses, intended to protect pregnant women and provide immunity to their children during their first months of life.

These doses complement the health sector's strategy to combat RSV, which also includes 79,075 doses of the monoclonal antibody Nirsevimab that arrived on June 24, consolidating a comprehensive protection model for early childhood.
