The President of the Republic, Jose Maria Balcazar, thanked Congress on Thursday afternoon for granting a vote of confidence to the Cabinet by led Prime Minister Luis Arroyo.

Likewise, the Head of State said that support strengthens the Executive Branch to continue working in the remaining months of the administration.

"It will encourage us to keep working in the months we have left. That reflects not only the outcome of ministers' efforts over these months, but their effective work. They are skilled technocrats and trained professionals," he expressed.

The top official added that Congress' decision was influenced by the presentation of the Government's general policy by Prime Minister Arroyo, as well as the responses provided by other State ministers to lawmakers.

"We are on the right track; we are in a process of national integration, and we want to leave a clear path for the future President of the Republic," Balcazar said.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Arroyo thanked lawmakers for the confidence granted.

"You can be fully assured that we will not let you down," the Cabinet chief expressed.

"Our work, on the contrary, has energized us to push forward and complete this term by July 27 under the best conditions, acting as effective administrators and reaching, as I always say, that deep Peru, that forgotten Peru," he added.
