The Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs presided over a working meeting with the participation of national institutions including the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Defense, the National Intelligence Directorate, and the Superintendence of Banking and Insurance, together with a team of advisers from the U.S. Department of Justice's Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training (OPDAT).

The U.S. delegation was composed of officials from the Departments of State, Justice, and Homeland Security, accompanied by representatives of their Embassy, in order to address various issues related to the fight against terrorism.

The meeting aimed to provide technical advice and assistance from the U.S. delegation to their Peruvian counterparts on the matter.

This was carried out through a presentation on the topic, followed by a dialogue session in which participants were able to share and exchange experiences.

This activity adds to the various cooperation agreements between the United States and Peru, such as the Memorandum of Understanding on information sharing for the detection of terrorists, as well as training programs and joint operations against criminal groups.

These initiatives have helped further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries in a priority area of shared interest: the fight against terrorism and transnational organized crime for the benefit of both nations.

The event was held at Torre Tagle Palace, the Foreign Affairs Ministry's headquarters on Wednesday.
