Soccer star Paolo Guerrero joins Peru national team in Austria

16:05 | Schruns (Austria), May. 31.

Peru's top striker and captain Paolo Guerrero on Thursday joined fellow national team members, who are gathered in Austria before playing their last two pre-World Cup matches against Saudi Arabia and Sweden.

As is known, the top striker was cleared to play at the upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup after the Swiss Federal Court agreed to temporarily lift the 14-month ban imposed on him by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

He entered the Loewen Hotel Montafon quiet but pleased by the Court's decision that allows him to participate in the World Cup tournament.

The athlete arrived smiling as he was greeted with gratitude by the delegation members. He was first welcomed by coach Ricardo Gareca, who seemed happy for the captain's return.

The forward was joined by Peruvian Soccer Federation (FPF) President Edwin Oviedo on the occasion.

The national team landed in Zurich (Switzerland) early on Thursday. From there, the delegation traveled to the Austrian city of Schruns, where it will stay thru this weekend.

Peru will face Saudi Arabia in the Swiss city of St. Gallen on June 3 at 7:00 PM (local time). Then, it will travel to Gothenburg to face Sweden on June 9 at 6:15 PM (local time).
