Peru's national soccer team arrived in Switzerland before playing friendly matches as preparation for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia.

The charter plane carrying the red-white squad landed at Zurich Airport on Thursday morning.

Amid joy and cheers, the athletes were welcomed by a large number of Peruvians residing in the European country, as well as fans who follow the team on its journey to soccer's mega event.

The Peru-Saudi Arabia match will be held in St. Gallen on June 3 at 7:00 PM (local time).

Then, they will travel to Gothenburg to face Sweden on June 9 at 6:15 PM (local time).

As is known, Peru qualified for the FIFA World Cup after 36 years. The team is placed in Group C, along with France, Denmark, and Australia.

The Incas' first game will be played against Denmark (June 16). Then, they will clash with France (June 21) before facing Australia (June 26).

It must be noted Peru's top striker Paolo Guerrero was recently cleared to participate in the World Cup tournament after the Swiss Federal Court agreed to lift a 14-month ban imposed on him by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
