Peru PM to support legislative power request next week

18:53 | Lima, May. 8.

Prime Minister Cesar Villanueva will appear before Congress' Constitution and Regulation Commission on May 18 to back the request submitted by the Executive Branch in order to legislate for a 60-day period.

It must be noted the corresponding topics range from tax and financial matters to anti-corruption measures

As is known, Villanueva —last week— requested legislative powers to Congress in various priority areas, which were mentioned during his speech prior to a confidence vote granted to the Ministerial Cabinet.

Some of these faculties are related to the productive and economic development of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, as well as reforms in the country's reconstruction process after Coastal El Niño phenomenon hit northern Peru last year.

Likewise, the Government seeks to implement measures that will prevent people —convicted of money laundering, drug trafficking, and terrorism funding activities— from joining the public service, among other measures.
