Prime Minister Cesar Villanueva announced his cabinet will travel to the areas most affected by frosts and cold spells with the purpose of delivering humanitarian aid to locals.
"We want to say we are not only going to be attentive; the
whole cabinet will be traveling to the
diverse regions under
state of emergency, as we have been doing since last week," he told reporters at a press conference.
The official went on to add low temperatures prove the existence of climate change. Thus,
corresponding precautions must be taken in order to overcome its impacts.
As part of
these efforts, the Peruvian Government will distribute cattle food to farmers in order to save their animals, as many families residing in those areas depend on livestock activities, he explained.
In addition, the cabinet head announced the next Muni-Executive Power meeting will be held in Peru's southern Arequipa city.
It must be noted these gatherings denote cooperation platforms that promote, develop, and strengthen the joint efforts between municipalities and the Executive Branch.
On the other hand, he thanked Congress for
having granted special powers to President Martin Vizcarra's administration to legislate on several matters.
