Wednesday brought the most beautiful and amazing night to Peru once Jefferson Farfan scored a goal against New Zealand in the World Cup qualifying playoff.

The 33-year-old was the first player to amazingly contribute to a 2-0 win in the decisive match, which allowed the Inca team to qualify for Russia 2018.

In this sense, the player's goal meant the most important one to over 30 million Peruvians, as well as to his soccer career.

Dedicated to Peru's top striker Guerrero

Farfan's right-footed shot not only unleashed a celebration across the nation but also delivered a message of gratitude to his suspended teammate Paolo Guerrero.

"Thanks for the support. From the bottom of my heart, this is for you, Paolo, as I had promised," the Lokomotiv Moscow forward said.

Although Peru's top striker was not physically in the game, he was in the hearts of Peruvian fans gathered at Lima's National Stadium last night.

After scoring the first goal, Farfan also dropped some tears.

On the occasion, such tears did not mean sorrow as when Uruguay took Peru out of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, leaving Farfan sad and emotionally destroyed.

Last night, Peru was able to get the tickets to Russia 2018. Now, the athlete and the whole country celebrate the victory.
