Peru fans join national team's last in home training before pre-World Cup friendlies

09:09 | Lima, May. 26.

National soccer players meet with Peruvians fans as part of an open doors training session at National Stadium in Peru's capital city, Lima.

The sporting event focuses on the upcoming friendly clash against Scotland as preparation for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia.

The session also marks the last training —on home soil— prior to the upcoming friendly matches they will be playing in Europe.

A total of 35,000 tickets have been allocated for this event —one of the last chances to see the Inca squad before national players head to the World Cup tournament starting on June 14.

The stadium was due to open its doors at 7:00 AM and the training session is slated to begin at 10:30 AM.

The official good bye to Peruvian fans will be the game against Scotland, scheduled for May 29, also at National Stadium.

It must be noted the Incas are leaving for Europe on Wednesday, May 30 to play their last two friendlies against Saudi Arabia (June 3) and Sweden (June 9).

On the other hand, Peru coach Ricardo Gareca will give his last press conference following the farewell training session.

At the media event, the Argentine will dispel doubts and uncertainty in decisions about who will replace Paolo Guerrero and who will be pulled from the 24-man preliminary roster.

As is known, the deadline for all World Cup nations to announce their 23-man squads is June 4.
