Peru's Government and the European Union (EU) on Thursday signed an agreement to improve the functioning of Regional Development Agencies (RDAs), as well as the elaboration of Regional Development and Innovation Strategies in five regions of the Inca country.
According to the agreement, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) will act as the implementing body for this project.
The entity will be supported by the
Federal Republic of Germany and the Kingdom of Spain, through their official development cooperation agencies.
Said document was signed by Prime Minister Mercedes Araoz and EU Ambassador Diego Mellado.
The signing ceremony also featured
German Ambassador to Peru Jörg Ranau, Spanish Embassy representative in Peru Jorge Sanchez, National Science and Technology Council (Concytec) Head Fabiola Leon-Velarde, and Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Nestor Popolizio.
Likewise, Production Minister Lieneke Schol participated as a witness.
