Prime Minister Mercedes Araoz said on Tuesday Peru is an example of development and feels confident that her country will join the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
"Our country is an example of development and that changes can continue to be made," she said in a ceremony marking the 20th anniversary of Peru's Superintendency of Banking, Insurance and Private Pension Fund Administrators (SBS).
Araoz emphasized Peru's entry into the
OECD may be feasible if there is adequate coordination between State and private sector actors.
These efforts, she said, should involve the incorporation of innovative ideas to show the country is serious when it comes to managing finances.
Afterwards, the Cabinet chief chaired the 124th National Agreement Forum session to address the
anemia situation in the Andean country.
The meeting included the participation of Development and Social Inclusion Minister Fiorella Molinelli and
World Food Program (WFP) Representative in Peru Carmen Burbano.
The event took place at Government Palace's Great Dining Room in Lima.
