Peru: Diplomatic Service Association backs actions against Israel-based embassy events

12:18 | Lima, Jun. 20.

The Peruvian Diplomatic Service Officials Association (AFSDP) expressed strong support for the actions taken by the Foreign Affairs Ministry's Senior Management team with respect to events that occurred at the Peruvian Embassy in Israel.

In a recent statement, the AFSDP said these incidents severely affect the image and prestige of the association, as well as the Diplomatic Service of the Republic.

In this sense, the organization reiterated its full respect for dignity arising from the responsible exercise of authority, inherent to the diplomatic role.

As is known, Peru's Foreign Affairs Minister Nestor Popolizio has called for the immediate return of Fortunato Quesada Seminario (Peruvian Ambassador to Israel) to Lima.

The envoy is accused of mistreatment and verbal abuse by Peruvian employees of his diplomatic delegation in Israel.

Additionally, Popolizio announced —via Twitter— the beginning of an investigation into allegations against Quesada Seminario.
