The pictures show Lima's Las Palmas Air Base which will be equipped, so that Pope Francis leads a multitudinous mass during his visit to Peru on January 18-21, 2018.
Although the area's capacity is yet to be announced, at least
one million believers are
expected to attend and witness the liturgical act celebrated by His Holiness during his last day in the Inca country.
Moreover, the standing area will be strategically suited to ensure an adequate response and evacuation if necessary.
The base's ground will be flattened and ready in the coming days, so it will be presented to the commission in charge of organizing the meeting between Pope Francis with Catholics in the nation's capital city.
The Executive Power works closely with local governments and Peru's National Police to make the Papal visit a huge success.
Pope Francis will arrive in Peru on
January 17, 2018, a day before his planned papal visit.
As is known, His Holiness last May
expressed his wish to travel to the Andean nation. His visit was officially announced a month later.
In addition to Lima, the 80-year-old Pontiff's trip will include cities
Puerto Maldonado and Trujillo in rainforest Madre de Dios and northern La Libertad regions, respectively.
