Peru's Second Vice-President Mercedes Araoz expressed her total support for President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski and affirmed the Executive Power continues working on the social revolution demanded by the people.

Within the framework of a Congress' motion to impeach the President, Araoz also reaffirmed her loyalty to the Head of State, as First Vice-President Martin Vizcarra did earlier on Wednesday.

"[I expressed] my loyalty and total support for President Kuczynski. We continue working —as a team— to move the social revolution forward, for which the people voted democratically," Araoz posted on Twitter.

As is known, Congress' opposition party Frente Amplio (Wide Front) last Friday filed a motion to impeach President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski on the grounds of moral incapacity, following corruption allegations involving scandal-plagued Odebrecht.

On Thursday, the statesman will attend a Congress plenary session to exercise his right to defense.

It must be noted the impeachment motion requires 87 votes to pass.
