Peru's Second Vice-President Mercedes Araoz expressed her total support for President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski and affirmed the Executive Power continues working on the social revolution demanded by the people.
"[I expressed] my loyalty and total support for President Kuczynski. We continue working —as a team— to move the
social revolution forward, for which the people voted democratically," Araoz posted on Twitter.
As is known, Congress' opposition party Frente Amplio (Wide Front) last Friday filed a motion to impeach President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski on the grounds of moral incapacity, following corruption allegations involving scandal-plagued Odebrecht.
On Thursday, the statesman will attend a Congress plenary session to exercise his
right to defense.
It must be noted the impeachment motion requires 87 votes to pass.
