The 8th Summit of the Americas will lead to showcasing Peru as an attractive country for foreign investments, which relies on a better business environment, National Confederation of Private Business Institutions (Confiep) affirmed on Wednesday.
"This means an opportunity to reduce poverty. That's what matters to us the most as Peruvians and as a country," he added.
Benavides pointed out the current circumstances —the Inca nation is going through— make this event especially important, since it will project itself as a democracy that has overcome a
difficult moment.
"The fact that all these countries will come to join us is a confirmation that Peru is on a much better position (…)," the officer expressed.
Business meeting
The Confiep chairman also said a business meeting will take place prior to the
Summit, thus showing a very valuable message of integration between public and private sectors.
"Entrepreneurs from various sectors will arrive (in Peru) along with Latin America's top executives, but mainly those from the mining sector," Benavides highlighted.
"This is highly important to the country. That's why I would like to stress the fact that CEOs from the world's top
mining companies will arrive (in Peru)," he concluded.
