Peru's supply of cotton and alpaca clothing is once again showcased at Magic, the United States' most important trade fair dedicated to the apparel industry, taking place for the first time in New York from September 19th to 21st, as announced by the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Export and Tourism (PromPeru).

This fair, traditionally held in Las Vegas, is being held in the Big Apple for the first time, generating much anticipation among major commercial establishments in the industry located on the East Coast of the United States.

Said establishments will have the opportunity to become acquainted with and confirm the high quality of Peruvian fibers in collections for the spring and summer seasons.

For over 20 years, PromPeru has been organizing the participation of Peruvian exporters, showcasing their garments in this important destination and providing the opportunity for national entrepreneurs to stay updated on new trends and share their industry knowledge, promoting sustainable practices.

On this occasion, seven Peruvian companies specializing in cotton, alpaca, and blend garments are participating in this significant event under the sourcing strategy for the adult segment and with the sector brands 'Peru Textiles' and 'Alpaca del Peru.'

These companies are Art Atlas, BH Solutions, Francky and Ricky, Kusa Cotton, PSG, Raintex, and Textiles y Manufacturas Andinas.

The national delegation received a visit from Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Juan Carlos Mathews, who is in the city for various official activities.

At the fair, the high-ranking official was able to witness the growing interest in Peruvian products, which suggests excellent commercial commitments for the coming months.

In each edition, the Magic Fair attracts professional buyers from over 100 countries who attend in search of novelties in clothing, footwear, accessories, and business contacts.

Exports

The United States is the main market for Peruvian clothing exports, accounting for 66.6% of total global shipments, which amounted to US$596 million in 2022.
