Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski on Wednesday condemned the violent acts occurred earlier today at Venezuela's National Assembly headquarters.

"I express my strongest rejection and condemnation of the unacceptable violent acts unleashed today at the National Assembly of Venezuela," he posted on Twitter.

The Head of State also noted the Bolivarian country's humanitarian and political crisis must be overcome while respecting human rights and democratic institutions.

Dozens of pro-government activists stormed into the grounds of Caracas-based National Assembly Wednesday and attacked lawmakers, leaving several hurt and bleeding, AFP reported.

Intruders brandishing sticks and dressed in red broke through the front gate and set off fireworks in the interior gardens of the building, it added.

"The government supporters reached as far as the corridors of the congressional building, striking and injuring at least three lawmakers. The attackers ordered journalists to stop filming and taking photographs and leave the premises."

Tension is high in Venezuela after three months of anti-government protests that have seen 91 people killed in clashes with the police.

As is known, Peru has been a strong critic of President Nicolas Maduro's regime.
