The Pacific Alliance Council of Ministers' Meeting took place on Thursday in Cali, within the framework of the 12th PA Summit.
During the opening ceremony, Colombian Foreign Affairs Minister Maria Angela Holguin expressed this
integration mechanism is extremely important for each PA member state.
"We deem said mechanism as a very clear path to achieve free movement of
goods, services, capital and people, which will lead to hosting more competitive economies […]," Holguin indicated.
Such announcement was endorsed by counterparts Heraldo Munoz (Chile), Ricardo Luna (Peru) and Luis Videgaray (Mexico).
At this meeting, the Declaration of Cali was reviewed in order to be adopted over the
Presidential Summit, at which the Pro-Tempore Presidency will be officially transferred to Colombia this Friday.
Such position aims to organize and host presidential meetings, as well as coordinate gatherings developed for the Council of Ministers and the High Level Group (GAN), among other protocol activities.
The Council of Ministers session saw the participation of PA state members' Foreign Affairs Ministers, and other representatives of several portfolios, such as Economy Secretary Ildefonso Guajardo (Mexico), as well as Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Eduardo Ferreyros (Peru).
