Leaders from the Asia-Pacific region will arrive in Lima starting on Wednesday to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum 2016, Peru’s Foreign Affairs Ministry reported on Tuesday.

November 16th

The first leaders to reach the Peruvian territory are Chinese Taipei’s People First Party Chairman James Soong (at 17:30 local time), and Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong (at 19:15).

November 17th

On Thursday, the Inca country will welcome the Philippines’ leader Rodrigo Duterte (02:00); Viet Nam’s leader Tran Dai Quang (17:20); Hong Kong’s Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying (19:00) and Australia’s Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull (23:30). 

APEC’s host nation also expects to receive Brunei’s Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah throughout the day. 

November 18th

Prime Ministers from Malaysia, Mohammad Najib Tun Razak; New Zealand, John Key; Japan, Shinzo Abe; and Canada, Justin Trudeau will arrive on Friday.

The presence of Mexico’s leader is still expected to be confirmed. 

November 19th 

Likewise, the arrival of Korea’s Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn and Russia’s leader Vladimir Putin is scheduled for Saturday. 

Leaders from the United States, Barack Obama; China, Xi Jinping; and Chile, Michelle Bachelet, as well as Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister Prajin Juntong have not confirmed their arrival time yet. 

Indonesia Vice-President Jusuf Kalla and Papua New Guinea’s Prime Minister Peter O'Neil will also join this major event.

The bloc seeks to promote trade and investment liberalization, facilitate business and boost economic cooperation, in order to achieve prosperity of its members. 

Said economies are: Australia; Brunei Darussalam; Canada; Chile; People’s Republic of China; Hong Kong, China; Indonesia; Japan; Malaysia; Mexico; New Zealand; Papua New Guinea; Peru; the Philippines; the Russia Federation; Singapore; Republic of Korea; Chinese Taipei; Thailand; the United States and Viet Nam.
