Peru will take part in the World Saving Week celebration with several activities across the national territory from March 16 to 19 2016.

Held once a year, in March, the celebration highlights the importance of saving money among young people.

Different events are organized by schools, universities, ministries, financial institutions, civil society's members, children and youngsters from all over the world.

This year’s edition in Peru will see active participation of the Superintendency of Banking, Insurance and Private Pension Fund Administrators (SBS), the Multisectoral Financial Inclusion Commission, Peru's Education Ministry, Banco de la Nacion, Rimac Seguros, Fundacion Alemana, Banco de Credito del Peru (BCP), Peruvian Deposit Insurance Fund, Peruvian Association of Insurance Companies (APESEG), Peruvian Federation of Municipal Savings and Credit Banks (FEPCMAC), among other entities.

This world call for action is boosted by the Child & Youth Finance International (CYFI), a worldwide multi-sectoral network devoted to improve financial skills of children and youngsters.

CYFI expects more than 7 million children and youth participants in over 100 countries this year.

The objective is to teach children and youngsters about money, the relevance of saving it and the business initiative by creating opportunities in which learning, playful and interactive activities are encouraged.

The World Saving Week will hold its final event on March 19th—a saving fair running from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (local time) in San Miguel district.
