During 2015 social programs run by the Development and Social Inclusion Ministry (Midis) along with proper intersectoral coordination have significantly contributed to enhancing life quality of people living in poverty and extreme poverty in Peru.

According to Midis, the Fund for Economic Inclusion in Rural Areas (Fonie) allowed the government to finance a total of 1,627 rural electrification, water, sanitation, road and telecommunication projects executed for the benefit of most remote communities.

Thanks to the Stimulus Performance Fund (FED), over S/.187 million (about US$55.65 million) was transferred to regional governments for fulfilling commitments and reaching coverage goals.

Cuna Mas, Juntos, Qali Warma, Haku Wiñay/Noa Jayatai, Pension 65 among other initiatives made great progress having assisted several communities across the country.

Cuna Mas has assisted over 135,000 users in 24 regions. Likewise, nearly 79% of the total rely on some type of government-funded insurance.

Juntos has registered 814,533 households. The program is present in 1,178 districts and 42,000 population centers belonging to 15 regions. It is a government conditional transfer program for those living in poverty, which provides families with S/.200 (about US$59.5) every two months.

Pension 65 reaches a total of 501,681 seniors aged above 65, who live in extreme poor areas. The program has reached a 100% district coverage rate nationwide.
It provides a financial support of S/. 250 (about US$ 74.40) to elderly people across the country every two months in a bid to reduce their vulnerability and improve their quality of life.

Qali Warma has assisted over 3.3 million initial and elementary school students from more than 60,000 Peruvian educational centers by providing them with breakfasts and lunch.

In 2015, the total fund—executed for financial resources transfer aimed at food acquisitions— amounted to S/. 1.00 billion (about US$297 million).
