Mincetur to participate in US-Peru FTA Free Trade Commission Meeting in Washington D.C.

A delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) will take part in the Meeting of the Free Trade Commission under the United States-Peru Trade Promotion Agreement (TPA) to be held in Washington D.C. on November 11-13.

According to a ministerial resolution, the group will be led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade Edgar Vasquez, and is responsible of overseeing the implementation and correct application of the agreement as well as reviewing the progress made under it.

The Commission also agreed to hold meetings of the Standing Committee on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures and, the Technical Barriers to Trade Committee, both under the TPA.

Participants will keep track of specific issues under the Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures and, the Technical Barriers to Trade Chapters, respectively.

In addition to Vasquez, the delegation will also include Mincetur officials including Rocio Elena Barreda Santos, Lourdes Loayza Bellido, Teresa Stella Mera Gomez, Marcelo Alonso Valverde Arevalo, Ernesto Emilio Guevara Lam and Maria Flavia Connearn Diaz.

Deputy Minister of Tourism Maria del Carmen de Reparaz will take over the Foreign Trade portfolio, while Vasquez is absent.
