Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez began two-day official visit to Peru including a meeting with his Peruvian counterpart Ollanta Humala Tasso and the signing of a free trade agreement.
In the morning, he will hold a private audience at the Government Palace in Lima, according to his official agenda.
Both dignitaries will participate in the signing of free trade and mining assistance accords, and will sign a joint declaration as well, the Honduran Presidency indicated.
After meeting with Humala, Hernandez will get together with Peruvian Ministers of Energy and Mines, Environment and Agriculture, with whom he will address good practices in the public mining sector.
At the business forum on Friday, Hernandez will speak on economic development and employment zones, the Plan of the Alliance for Prosperity in the Northern Triangle, and the customs union between Honduras and Guatemala.
He will also explain the benefits that Honduras offers to investors of different areas ranging from energy generation to tourist activities.
The Honduran leader is also planning to meet representatives of Chinese consortiums and large companies in order to explore their interest in investing in Honduras.
On Saturday morning, Hernandez and his wife will visit Huaral (northern Lima) and Huayna Capac (in Villa El Salvador district) parks, with the aim of observing the successful experience of Peru in this field.
The president arrived last night in Lima from Chile after his participation in the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), and will return to his country on Saturday afternoon.
At 9:30 a.m. (14:30 GMT) Honduras’ First Lady Ana Garcia and Peruvian Minister of Development and Social Inclusion (Midis) Paola Bustamante are scheduled to visit the Comprehensive Child Care Center (CIAI) for its Spanish acronym) in the Luis Felipe De las Casas human settlement, located in Ventanilla, Callao.
Garcia is looking to know the management model developed by the Program in the local community, and get information on the comprehensive assistance it provides to kids under 3 years old through its Day Care Service.
