The Peruvian Swimming team displayed an outstanding performance at the 2015's South American Youth Championship final edition, held in Lima, by winning two gold, three silver and three bronze medals.
Thus, it enabled Peru to reach the third position totaling 415.50 points.
The first golden medal went to swimmer Valeria Ugaz (Youth category). She managed to win the 100m-butterfly swimming competition (1:04.24).
Likewise, Peruvian Paula Tamashiro beat her compatriot Rafaela Alcalde in the last 25 meters of the 200-meter-breastroke competition by merely 29 hundredths.
Tamashiro made a time of (2:42.17) winning gold, while Alcalde got the silver one (2:42.46).
After four days of sports activities, the Peruvian team claimed the third position by getting 415.50 points. The second place was taken by Argentina (560) and the tournament’s winner was Brazil (952).
