Peru’s Production Minister, Piero Ghezzi, has launched a total of 81 productive innovation activities to be implemented across the country through July 2016 and whose completion will require an investment of at least S/.230 million (about US$75.1 million).
The 2015-2016 Innovation Calendar activities are particularly aimed at innovative entrepreneurs and micro, small- and medium-sized enterprises.
A total of 57 activities are expected to be completed in 2015 and the other 24 will be implemented through July 2016.
In addition, Ghezzi officially launched INNOVATE Peru, the platform that will put all the actions, programs, funds and productive innovation instruments together under the direction of the Production Ministry (Produce).
Produce has managed to complete 18 specific instruments intended to favor the innovation of companies across the country, in different stages and situations.
“We are investing heavily in the country’s productive innovation because we are convinced investment in innovation and human capital is essential to increase productivity of companies and ensure the long-term growth of the country,” stated Ghezzi after noting these activities are part of the National Plan for Productive Diversification currently conducted by his portfolio.
The government official also announced the publication of a manual containing 18 instruments Produce offers to entrepreneurs and companies under the flag of innovation.
