After her sixth Grammy nomination in the Best Folk Album category together with Olga Cerpa and Albita for “Mujeres con cajones”(Women with cajones), Eva Ayllon was told today that one of his musical collaborations was nominated for a Grammy.
Porto Ricans Pijuan and Los Baby Boomers Boys’ CD “Solo pa' los jóvenes… de corazón” (Just for those young... at heart) is the name of the album she collaborated on.
It was Pijuan himself, the producer, who said "I just wanted to tell you that we are really happy and even excited for this nomination, because in my 49 years of uninterrupted career and, at 72, I am ... a newbie in this thing of the Grammy."
Indeed, José Juan Piñero González, artistically known as Pijuán, is an artist with a long trajectory and has produced albums in more than six different record producers.
It is worth mentioning that he had to wait for almost three years until he matched dates and priorities to finally get to work with the Peruvian singer
In the album, Eva sings two songs of the island of enchantment's popular anthology: "Nuestra Luna"(Our Moon) by Sylvia Rexach, and “El amor del jíbaro” (The Jibaro's love) by Noel Estrada, also author of “En mi viejo San Juan.”
For these two songs, she joins Chucho Avellanet, the other quest singer on the album.
This 15th annual Latin Grammy award ceremony will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada, US, on November 20th.
