The chief judge of the Peruvian Constitutional Court, Oscar Urviola, will leave for Seoul to participate in the 3rd Congress of the World Conference on Constitutional Justice (WCCJ), event that brings together the leaders of constitutional justice from around the world.

Under the topic of "Constitutional Justice and Social Inte-gration," the forthcoming congress will bring together heads of more than 100 constitutional courts and equivalent bodies as well as international organizations from around the globe to share knowledge and experience and to further mutual trust and friendship.

Taking place in Seoul from September 28 to October 1, it is believed this year’s Congress will help participants not only strengthen ties and cooperation with other constitutional courts but also advance democracy, rule of law, and human rights.

In addition to Oscar Urviola, judges Carlos Ramos, José Luis Sardón and Eloy Espinosa-Saldaña Barrera will also attend the four-day event at the invitation of the Constitutional Court of Korea and the Constitutional Justice Division of the Venice Commission.

The event will be divided in four sub-topics, namely "Challenges to Social Integration in a Globalised World", "International Norms on Social Integration", "Constitutional Instruments dealing with or strengthening social integration", and "The role of Constitutional Justice in social integration".

The first session on challenges to social integration will be chaired by Peruvian chief judge Urviola. This was expected as Peru will host the 11th Ibero-American Conference on Constitutional Justice (CIJC), scheduled to take place in 2016.
