09:28 | Lima, Jul. 29 (ANDINA).
Celebrations marking the 192nd anniversary of Peru's independence from Spain will culminate with a traditional civic-military parade in the capital Lima on Monday.
The Grand Civic and Military Parade, which takes place every year on July 29, will be held along 30 blocks of Brasil Avenue, starting at 10:00 hrs local time (15:00 GMT).
As tradition and protocol dictate, President Ollanta Humala will arrive shortly before 10 a.m. to review the troops and give the go ahead for the event to start.
Delegations from neighboring countries Brazil, Ecuador and Chile will reportedly open this year's Independence Day parade, which passes through the Lima districts of Jesus Maria, Pueblo Libre, Breña and Magdalena del Mar.
Members of the Army, Navy, Air Force and National Police are expected to delight attendees with their stiff march, gala uniforms and sophisticated equipment and vehicles including tanks, trucks, and artillery.
The parade will be attended by senior military and civilian officials as well as thousands of people who enthusiastically cheer from the stands lining the avenue.
