13:50 | Lima, Apr. 13.

The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) has released a video detailing the Government's efforts to repatriate thousands of Peruvian nationals during the state of emergency in response to the novel coronavirus pandemic.

As is known, over 6,800 Peruvians have been placed under quarantine at different hotels in the capital city Lima upon arrival. The aim is to take care of their health and make sure they can return home without being a risk to others.

"Volver a Casa" (Returning Home) is a short documentary that provides an overview of the repatriation process

It compiles testimonies of the different actors: repatriates, government authorities, law enforcement agents, health personnel, and hospitality workers, among others.

The video is available on Facebook and can be easily accessed here.

According to Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Edgar Vasquez, the repatriation strategy has yielded good results although, he noted, the process has faced major challenges.
