Alvaro Vargas Llosa, whose appointment as ambassador to the United States was recently made official, stated on Wednesday that he was assuming this position with a commitment to serving his country with dedication and honor.

"My profound gratitude to the President of the Republic, Keiko Fujimori, for my official appointment as Peru's Ambassador to the United States, a position held by some of the most admirable Peruvians," Vargas Llosa stated.

"I assume the commitment to serve the country with dedication, synderesis, and honor," he added on his official X account.

Alvaro Vargas Llosa—the son of 2010 Nobel Prize in Literature laureate Mario Vargas Llosa—was officially appointed Peru's Ambassador to the U.S. today through a supreme resolution published in the Legal Regulations section of the Official Gazette El Peruano.

Following the announcement of this appointment, President Keiko Fujimori expressed confidence that the new envoy "will help strengthen bilateral relations and friendship bonds between Peru and the North American country."

On September 11, the Head of State announced that Vargas Llosa would be our country's representative in the United States.
